THE PLOT
At the end of the second wizarding war, the celebrations over the Chosen One's triumph slowly faded away and the wizarding world faced new problems. The old world Pureblood attitudes were put to rest, as well as their being an upheaval of arrests made to those who practised in the Dark Arts. A new Minister meant new times, and he had a plan to rid all of the old Pureblood lines for good: the Sacred Twenty Eight would be something of the past and there will be no more fanatics taking the Dark Lord's place.
Of course, he didn't want it getting out to the public that that was his intention. Oh no - he cleverly disguised it by putting out new facts and figures to the press; that Wizard blood as they knew it was fading out, and only a law written that imposed marriage would fix their populace. It wasn't entirely untrue, as the population decrease within Europe was evident; but he wished to distract the public for his true intentions.
During the summer of 2021 - just a few months ago - the Marriage Law was passed.
All witches and wizards over the age of fifteen had to be put on a legal register. The register was a contractual agreement, stating that when they left Hogwarts; they were entitled to marry their 'match made' companion within five years. All couples are matched according to (what the Ministry states as) "a mixture of arithmancy, divinition and logical trends designed to pair us with our true soul mate". The Ministry is also willing to provide financial aid to ceremonies and embellishments for those less fortunate.
But what will happen now that the new law is imposed? Will it really stop the Purist belief? Will it cause more chaos than ever before?
